Bihar STET 2026

Educational Qualification

• Paper 1 (Classes 9–10): Master's degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, plus a B.Ed. in the same subject.
• Paper 2 (Classes 11–12): Master's degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject, plus a B.Ed.
• Reserved-category candidates receive a 5% relaxation in the qualifying-degree percentage as per Bihar government rules.

Age Limit

Minimum 21 years, reckoned as on 1 August 2026. There is no upper age limit to appear for the eligibility test itself — age limits are applied at the recruitment stage.

Nationality

Indian citizen. Bihar domicile is not required to appear for STET.

Other Requirements

• Candidates in the final year of B.Ed. may apply, subject to producing the result before the recruitment stage.
• A separate application is required for each subject you wish to qualify in.

A candidate appearing for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 pays the combined fee once, not twice.

Payment is accepted by debit card, credit card, net banking and UPI. Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

1. Computer Based Test — 150 objective questions covering the chosen subject and teaching aptitude.
2. Qualifying Marks Check — the category-wise minimum percentage is applied to the total score.
3. STET Certificate — qualified candidates receive the eligibility certificate used for BPSC teacher recruitment.

• Each paper runs for 150 minutes; both sections are attempted in the same sitting.
• No negative marking — attempt every question.
• Questions are set in Hindi and English.

Qualifying Marks

Teaching Aptitude & Pedagogy

Child development, learning theories, classroom management, inclusive education, assessment and evaluation, teaching methodology.

General Studies

Indian history, geography of India and Bihar, Indian polity, general science, current affairs, Bihar-specific general knowledge.

Computer Literacy

Computer fundamentals, operating systems, MS Office, internet basics, ICT in education.

Subject Papers

The subject section follows the graduate and post-graduate syllabus of your chosen subject:

• Sciences: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science
• Humanities: History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Psychology
• Languages: Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Maithili

• Recent passport-size photograph
• Scanned signature
• Aadhaar card or other photo ID
• Matriculation certificate (for date of birth)
• Graduation and post-graduation mark sheets
• B.Ed. degree or final-year certificate
• Caste certificate (for reserved categories)
• Disability certificate (if applicable)

1. Visit the official Bihar STET portal at bsebstet.com.
2. Register with a valid mobile number and email address to receive your login credentials.
3. Log in and fill the application form with your personal, educational and subject details.
4. Upload a recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.
5. Pay the application fee online for the paper or papers you are applying for.
6. Submit the completed form and note the application number generated.
7. Download and save the confirmation page for your records.
